Cell Regeneration Milestones

History of MBST

MBST Magnetic Resonance Therapy is a non-invasive therapy that restores and rejuvenates cells. It was first developed in the 1990s and is used to treat degenerative disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

The MBST story began in Germany in 1996. Following the observation that MRI patients with repeated exposure reported improvements in joint problems, healthcare inventor Axel Muntermann set out to create a therapy device using the same magnetic resonance technology.

After years of development, Muntermann and his team were able to successfully treat osteoporosis with the MBST device in 2003. Since then, the technology has continued to evolve, and is now available globally in over 250 locations.

It was in 2007, following attendance at an Osteoarthritis conference in Germany that physiotherapist Ann Clare first encountered the technology. Having treated numerous patients suffering from the painful joint disease for over 30 years, Ann instantly recognised the potential of cell regeneration therapy for her patients.

Ann shares:

“Over the course of my career, I had seen countless patients facing painful, unavoidable surgery to try and improve their physical health. In some cases, it seemed unnecessary, but there were no valid alternatives at the time. It was when I lost my father to MRSA after he contracted it through knee replacement surgery that I resolved to seek out alternatives to surgery for my patients.”

“I was astounded when I saw the quantitative results and realised that this was the solution I had been searching for. MBST is non-invasive, painless, stress-free and affordable – and best of all it yields fantastic results.”

Ann imported the first machine that same year, and began offering MBST therapy in her clinic in Peterborough. It was four years later that the family-run healthcare company Cell Regeneration was launched.

Ann had ignited the same passion for MBST and client care in her children, Charles and Elisabeth, and their vision of how MBST could help the UK’s musculoskeletal health came into being on the tenth of October 2011.

How murder led to realisation

Elisabeth Clare, MD of Cell Regeneration says of the decision:

“I actually got a bit of a kick up the bum to move forward with this after suffering a very unexpected bereavement. Both Charles and I have been incredibly passionate about MBST since Mum first discovered it, however it was in 2011 following the murder of my friends that I realised life is unpredictable, and that I wanted to spend mine helping people. It was then that we decided to launch Cell Regeneration.”

Since then, Cell Regeneration has become the flagship clinic for the MBST-UK community, which has grown to include nine additional clinics. They have helped people to walk again, enabled patients to avoid surgery, and allowed others to live pain-free.

Celebrity clients

Elisabeth and her team treat all different types of people; from women in their twenties who suffered a riding injury, to grandparents in their sixties with osteoarthritis, to elite athletes who want to play sport again. Notable clients include champion boxer Johnny Nelson, who successfully underwent MBST therapy to treat his neck pain, lower back problems and hand injuries.

Cell Regeneration has big plans for its tenth anniversary year. Following the introduction of the MBST devices into the two newest clinics, Cheltenham and Harley Street, they intend to grow the MBST-UK community further, with a long-term goal of having MBST therapy available in every major town and city across the UK. There are also plans to launch the pioneering MBST-VET treatment, which has already successfully treated horses under the Cell Regeneration clinic umbrella.

Charles Clare, Chief Technician of Cell Regeneration concludes:

“It’s been an incredible ten years. When I look back at Liz and myself sitting discussing this in the pub in our tiny hometown over a pint, I’m so proud of how far we have come. In that time we secured the exclusive licence to import MBST devices, placed MBST in nine additional clinics, have undertaken training to conduct the device installation in house, and most importantly, have helped so many patients. I’m very excited to see what the next decade of MBST will bring!”
